Following their recent “old school” series, The Minor Planets provide another glimpse into the past—performing what are effectively cover versions of eight early demos. As mentioned by Stuart Farquharson: “In the liner notes to this album there are some charming thoughts from Micah Libra, the man behind this latest project. He explains how the term ‘covers’ should be taken quite literally, as if a cloth had been thrown over the original work, muting them, but still containing the contour of the piece beneath.”
The instrumentation includes French horn, recorder, piano, electric guitar, percussion, violin, violoncello, double bass – all recorded in Libra’s basement.
Recommended with headphones.
